Mohammad ibn Ali ibn Mohammad Zahiri Samarqandi

Zahiri Samarqandi was a distinguished secretary and prose writer of the late sixth and early seventh centuries AH who served at the Qarakhanid court. His most important work is his Persian recasting of Sendbad-nameh in ornate prose, enriched with Qur'anic verses, hadith, poetry, and Persian and Arabic proverbs. The book is a major example of elaborate Persian prose of the Seljuk period.
