Mahmud Varraq Heravi

Biography

Mahmud Varraq Heravi was an early Persian-language poet of the Tahirid and Saffarid periods. Very little is known about his life, and only a single dobayti is known to survive. One source gives 221 AH as the year of his death, but Ganjoor notes that this date conflicts with the historical evidence, so no definitive death year is recorded.
