Biography
Abu Hafs Hakim pesar-e Ahwas Soghdi
Abu Hafs Soghdi was among the early pioneers of Persian poetry after the advent of Islam and an important literary figure of the third century AH. In addition to poetry, he was a musician, and the invention of the instrument known as the Shahrud has also been attributed to him. Only a small number of verses survive under his name, and “Ahu-ye Kuhi” is the best-known work attributed to him in Ganjoor.
