Abu al-Hasan Shahid ibn Hosayn Jahudanki Balkhi

Shahid Balkhi was a fourth-century AH poet, theologian, philosopher, and calligrapher. He composed in Persian and Arabic and was counted among the pioneers of Persian poetry; later poets, including Rudaki and Daqiqi, praised his stature. Today only a little over one hundred verses of his poetry survive.
