Abu al-Nasr Sam Mirza Safavi

Sam Mirza Safavi, a son of Shah Esma'il I, was an art-loving Safavid prince of the tenth century AH who was active in poetry, calligraphy, and patronage of culture. His most important written work is Tohfeh-ye Sami, also known as Tazkereh-ye Sami, an important source on poets and artists of the Safavid period. His circle in Ardabil also attracted scholars and poets.
