Biography

Hakim Abu al-Fath Omar ibn Ebrahim al-Khayyami

Khayyam of Nishapur was an Iranian mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, and poet of the fifth and sixth centuries AH and one of Iran’s best-known figures worldwide. He contributed to observations and the reform of the Jalali calendar under Malekshah and wrote significant treatises on algebra, geometry, and the natural sciences. In literature, the rubaiyat attributed to Khayyam have achieved global fame, while Nowruz-nameh is another well-known work associated with him.
