Biography
Iranshan ibn Abi al-Khayr
Iranshan, whose name is also recorded as Iranshah, was an epic poet of the late fifth and early sixth centuries AH. He composed two important narrative poems, Bahman-nameh and Kush-nameh, continuing the Persian epic tradition. Bahman-nameh predates Kush-nameh and centers on the heroic story of Bahman, son of Esfandiyar. His life probably continued until around 511 AH.
