Abu Ali Mohammad ibn Mohammad ibn Abdallah Bal'ami
Abu Ali Bal'ami was a celebrated Samanid vizier of the fourth century AH and an important figure in the history of Persian prose. At the order of Mansur ibn Nuh, and with the assistance of scholars of Transoxiana, he translated and recast al-Tabari’s history into Persian. The resulting work is now known as Tarikh-e Bal'ami or Tarikh-nameh-ye Tabari. His death is recorded in 363 AH.
